In-place pavement recycling is a process in which the existing pavement structure is pulverized to a specified sizing and blended in-place with a determined amount of base gravel. This process eliminates reflective cracking common with over-lays and increases base thickness for the new asphalt-wearing surface. By reclaiming aggregate and bituminous material from deteriorated pavements, the need for new materials is appreciably reduced and the overall cost of the new pavement will be decreased.
